Fl\u00e1via Mudesto<\/strong> is a Soundscape Artist & Videographer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fl\u00e1via<\/strong> lives and works in Vienna. Her practice as an audiovisual artist includes sound recording, electronic music production, digital and analogue video production, <\/strong>and projection<\/strong> mapping<\/strong>.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her A\/V practice moves between documentary portraits of places and people<\/strong>, fictional narratives<\/strong>, and a poetic approach<\/strong> \u2014 often described as antifascist horror<\/em> and queer<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is board member<\/strong> of the Vienna Struggle <\/a>and resident artist<\/strong> at Lichtbogen 334 <\/em>.<\/a> Since 2018, she has been studying at the Akademie der Bildende K\u00fcnste Wien<\/a>, supervised by Aschley Scheirl<\/a> <\/em>(Contextual Painting<\/strong>) , Tizza Covi<\/em><\/a> (Kunst und Film<\/a><\/strong>) & currently supervised by Emily Wardill<\/a> (Kunst und Film<\/a><\/strong>). Mudesto investigates the artistic and political occupation of the body, reflecting in her work deconstruction and healing through rituals that reflect queer habits and collective traumas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mudesto started in 2009 a degree in Psychology<\/strong>  (UFMG)<\/a> while engaged with “Luta Antimanicomial “(Brazilian anti-asylum movement)<\/em> <\/a>and MST (Landless Workers Movement<\/em>).<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the FAPEMIG Research schoolarship she developed research on Neuroscience & Decision Making <\/i>under the supervision of Prof. Leandro Malloy<\/i>. Motivated to study the human mechanisms in a distinct level, in 2011, she changed her studies to Pharmacy <\/b>(UFMG) <\/a>and also her academic research to the field of Molecular Medicine & Genetic Analysis,<\/i> founded by CNPq Research scholarship and supervised by Prof. Luis de Marco<\/i>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2013 she got a Brazilian scholarship (CAPES) to study Bioinformatics<\/b> (Eberhard Karls University of Tu\u0308bingen<\/a>). For two years as undergrad researcher at the Applied Bioinformatics Group<\/a>, supervised by Prof. Oliver Kohlbacher. <\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While performing experiments in the field of Drug Design<\/i>, Mudesto was reconnecting herself during this period with the personal need to engage actively in artistic communities. Besides the personal feminist angle of her work\u2019s narrative, it also involves critique of bio-politics<\/em> of interpersonality<\/i> and addresses the deconfiguration<\/i> of mainstream gender\/power relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2019, Mudesto was one of the founders of the theatre group<\/strong>, called originally “PHYSICAL THEATER COLLECTIVE COMPLICIT<\/a>“<\/em>. Especially dealing with the phenomenology of “being between” environments, analysing binary physical and conceptual dualities such as pleasure and pain, self and non-self, through the “reconfiguration” of the body as a critical tool that responds to the triggers of the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mudesto was an active member of Frauen*referat an der \u00d6H Uni Wien<\/a>, \u00d6H Akbild<\/a>, Verein f\u00fcr Barrierefreiheit in der Kunst, im Alltag, im Denken<\/a> <\/em>& Titanic Cultural.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
